Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cups water
  • Fresh coriander and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pot, sauté onions until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and spices.
  3. Add chicken and cook until it turns white. Add tomatoes and yogurt.
  4. Add rice and water, cover, and let it cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander and mint before serving.
